Starting from the children of the affluent people of the country, the children of the poor families are also addicted to drugs. The young society is mired in the current of destructive drugs. The spread of drugs is widespread in schools-colleges-universities. Talents who will take the nation forward by getting educated in higher education are drowning in the uncertainty.

Bakhtiar Alam Roni is the son of a woman Member of Parlament (MP) of Bangladesh. He brutally killed rickshaw puller Hakim and auto rickshaw driver Yakub Ali while intoxicated in Iskaton of the capital. He was later booked and arrested. In July this year, a drug-addicted husband entered the house and punched his pregnant wife in the stomach. He was taken to the hospital in a critical condition, but the child died and the wife is passing the day in a coma.

In this way, people from all walks of life in the country are getting involved in drug addiction. By this they are ending themselves, leaving the family utterly destitute, while the nation is sinking into the abyss.

Searching Ekushey Television online, all the information comes out which is shocking to think about. Where are we going? Where is our generation disappearing? A nation that has no way of understanding from above is dying inside.

Good looking Amir Hussain (pseudonym). Age 32. Studied at Wills Little Flower School in the capital. Aamir has a lot of time on his hands after the HSC exam. So he fell in love. The glittering life of Gulshan. Growing up there. Father is an industrialist. Travel around with your own private vehicle. Enjoy the day with friends. Meanwhile, Amir sees a friend who is often consuming ganja (cannabis). When asked, the friend said, "I smoke ganja to forget the sadness of my heart". One day Amir also took ganja from a friend and consumed it. The time is 2001. Then his different life began. Amir soon became addicted to cannabis. There was a quarrel with the lover. The sweet relationship is broken.

Amir said, “Basically I had a gap with my family. My father is always busy with his business. Mother is busy with her work. As a result, there is no one to give me time. This loneliness got to me from childhood and took a toll on me. Started hanging out with friends and got into weed out of a sense of pride. Due to the distance from my family, I used to stay out most of the time and do drugs. Thus, I fell into addiction, from which I could not get out."

Amir is the elder of two brothers and a sister. Later when the family came to know about it. They try hard to get away from drugs. The treatment lasts for a long time. But drug addiction made him frenetic. His parents were concerned by his behavior. They could not accept the condition of their son. He ended up taking all kinds of drugs including ganja, heroin, phenytoin day after day. Finally he became addicted to Yaba.

Aamir commented, “Because of me, the honor of the family has been lost. My mother dreamed of me becoming a big businessman like my father. I will finish my studies. I am his elder son. They don't want to believe I take drugs. I hurt them a lot. I am now trying to get rid of all this.”

After getting addicted to drugs, Aamir's family became more distant. He completed his graduation with his mother's efforts. Amir did not fully recover despite receiving treatment at various drug treatment centers. Even the father's huge amount of money cannot cure the child from this disastrous drug.
When trying to contact Amir's father, he expressed his inability to speak due to his social status. But there is wailing in him. As a father, he never wanted to see his child in such a state. This long breath of his is not ending in any way. Despite being the owner of abundant wealth; His question is why?

Once upon a time there was a glimmer of youth in Mohammad Habib Sarkar's eyes. His house is in Mothertech area of Sabujbag police station. Father Mohammad Shaukat Ali had no shortage of his own home and business. This Habib Sarkar first started taking Phensedyl out of curiosity while going out with friends. Then he became addicted to cannabis. Finally Yaba takes away everything from his youth. He started taking drugs in 2003 when he was in seventh grade while hanging out with a friend. When the parents find out, there is nothing else. They tried various ways to get him off drugs, but failed. Father left the world with a heartache.

All the properties of three brothers and three sisters are divided. In the eyes of the mother, Habib does not sleep. So he gave her in marriage. He thought it would be alright after marriage. But it didn't happen anymore. When the wife came to know that the husband was addicted to drugs, the relationship started to deteriorate. Wife tries to make him better. In this, the house is lit by a young son. Even after that, his family broke up. After that, all the land that was in his share ended up behind drugs.

Habib said, “I mortgaged the land that was my share to people and started taking drugs. At some point the money runs out. I don't get money from anyone anymore. Then I started selling drugs. I have gone to jail 6 times for selling drugs. My mother cries for me. But now I have no one. My wife also left a long time ago. Today I am destitute of everything.”

Habib is currently undergoing treatment at a drug addiction treatment center. Millions of families are disoriented today due to the blue color of drugs. Drugs have entered the homes of this country. This death addiction has spread like an epidemic in schools. Information that emerges from a search of Ekushey Television Online. A school student named Shamim Hossain got involved in drugs only when he was in the fifth grade. Curiosity at first; Later addiction. An addiction that he could never quit.

Shamim says, “Our house is at the foothills. own home I first started smoking marijuana in 1996 when I was in fifth grade through one of our tenants. Then some of his other friends started taking cannabis. My mother used to tell me why my eyes are so red. I used to say that dust and sand have fallen in the eyes. Later I became addicted to Yaba. Once everyone knows. Later I started vandalizing household items for money. If you don't pay, I would steal things. Once my father dropped me off at the juvenile delinquency center in Tongi. At that time I was very jealous of them.

There are numerous incidents that are constantly happening due to drugs. The beautiful family ties are loosening, the family is breaking up. One brother is killing another brother. The birth parents do not hesitate to kill either. Police daughter Oishi did not hesitate to brutally kill father Mahfuzur Rahman and mother Sapna Rahman due to drug intoxication. Every day the mother's aarti, sister's wail, brother's cry, wife's wail come up in the news pages. There have also been incidents where one's own sister was sold to a brothel without getting money for drugs.

Sociologists, doctors and crime analysts say that in most cases it is social fault that young people become addicted to drugs. Besides, neglect of parents towards children, lack of healthy entertainment, family turmoil, surrounding environment, laxity of laws are causing the youth to get involved in drugs. Currently, the number of Yaba users is high. Besides, Heroin, Phensedyl, Pethidin, Alcohol, Beer, Cocaine, Ganja are easily reaching the hands of the young generation. They think that the availability of these is one of the reasons.

Professor Dr. Arup Ratan Chowdhury has been doing anti-drug work for thirty years.

He said, “The young generation is now turning to drugs the most. It is because of our lack of healthy entertainment. Due to lack of cultural environment, children are going in a bad direction. Moreover, with money at hand and easy availability of drugs, they are getting addicted to these very quickly. Using the internet has also become much easier now. They don't see anything good there. Yaba is coming thousands times more than Rohingyas are coming to our country today. It is spreading all over the country with the help of influential people.

Alleys and alleys in different parts of the country, including Dhaka, are now drug trading places. Once you had to buy drugs from a certain place and now they are everywhere. In Kamalapur, Tejgaon, Moghbazar railway line, Mazar area, Sadarghat, Jatrabari, Farmgate and other places of the capital, it can be seen that many young, old and middle-aged people are addicted to ganja. Many are also earning good money by selling yaba and ganja.

Sitting in a tea shop adjacent to the Karwan Bazar railway gate, it is seen that many people come here after leaving the office to buy ganja or yaba. Buying and selling is done by gestures. At that time, a drug addict came and secretly gave some money to a drug dealer woman. After a while the woman brought a puriya and handed it to him. The man disappears in a moment. A little further, I asked the woman how it is going? The woman smiled and said - "Would you like?"

When asked again how the income is, he said, "It is a little less now. Sometimes the police make trouble. So you have to sell it with a little calculation. Many office people come here to take cannabis. Students also come. Many take Yaba. The price of ganja stick (shalaka) is 50 taka, 100 taka. There are several types of Yaba that give what they want. The daily income is two to three thousand rupees.

Drug Control Directorate is working on drug control. They are trying to control drugs through various operations. But when asked whether drugs are being controlled, a senior officer of the Directorate of Drug Control said, "We are conducting regular operations to control drugs. Efforts are underway to catch the drug dealers. I am highlighting its harmful aspects so that people do not get addicted to drugs. Working to cure those who are addicted. Encouraging private entrepreneurs to set up healing centers. Currently there are 235 healing centers across the country. We are working, drug control will happen. Drugs are the enemy of the country and the nation.”

It also affects the children of drug addicts. Defective children are born due to drug use. No matter which parent is addicted to drugs, it will affect the child.

Specialist psychiatrist Dr. Tajul Islam said, "Drug consumption is having an adverse effect on the child. If the mother takes drugs during pregnancy, then terrible conditions are created. Children may be born with disabilities. If the father is addicted to drugs, the child may be born abnormal or abnormal. Apart from this, it affects the child due to fights and commotion in the family. Later the child also became addicted to drugs.”

Is it possible for those who are taking drugs to recover?

Farooq Rahman Mintu, an officer of drug addiction treatment and rehabilitation center 'Prashanti' said, "I have been working with drug addicts for 14 years. Recovery is possible with regular treatment. We have a constant flow of patients and treatment. It seems to me that earlier drug use would have resulted in physical and mental incapacitation of the patient. Then it was possible to recover quickly through treatment. And now because of the change in the type of chemicals, 90 percent of the patients are suffering from mental disorders. As a result, we now have to change the treatment system. Now the effect on the brain is more with drug consumption.”

“To be safe from drugs, we have to prevent it socially. Family time should be given to the child. We have to take care of them.'' said Farooq Rahman Mintu.

Currently, there are about 7 million drug addicts across the country. Yaba is infiltrating rampantly through different borders of the country. If this destructive drug is not controlled, many talented youths like Amir, Shamim, Habib will drop out prematurely. The nation will be bereft of vitality of its youths.
