শেষ সময়ে ইংরেজি বিষয়ের প্রস্তুতি

বিসিএস ক্যাডার সার্ভিস প্রত্যাশীদের দরজায় কড়া নাড়ছে ৩৮ তম বিসিএস প্রিলিমিনারি পরীক্ষা। পরীক্ষার তারিখ এখনও ঘোষণা করা না হলেও শিগগিরই অনুষ্ঠিত হবে এই পরীক্ষা। এই সময়ে নিশ্চয়ই পড়ালেখায় ব্যস্ততম সময় কাটাচ্ছেন বিসিএস ক্যাডার প্রত্যাশী বন্ধুরা।  

৩৮ তম বিসিএস প্রিলিমিনারি পরীক্ষার্থীরা সামনের স্বল্প সময়ে ইংরেজি বিষয়ে কীভাবে গুছানো প্রস্তুতি নিবেন সে বিষয়ে মূল্যবান পরামর্শ দিয়েছেন ৩৬তম বিসিএসে পুলিশ ক্যাডার হওয়া ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের উইমেন অ্যান্ড জেন্ডার স্টাডিজের স্নাতক রব্বানি হোসেন।

বিসিএস প্রিলিমিনারী পরীক্ষায় ভালো করার অন্যতম হাতিয়ার হচ্ছে ইংরেজি বিষয়ের ৩৫ নম্বর। এই বিষয়টাতে বেশিরভাগ পরীক্ষার্থীদের দুর্বলতা থাকে। তাই অন্যের weak point কে একটু সতর্ক হলেই আপনি strong point বানাতে পারেন। যা আপনাকে বিসিএস দৌড়ে এগিয়ে রাখবে।

বন্ধুরা একটু গুরুত্ব দিলেই আপনি ইংরেজিতে ৩৫ এর মধ্যে ২৭ থেকে ২৮ পেয়ে যেতে পারেন। শেষ সময়ে তাই ইংরেজি বিষয়ে প্রস্তুতির জন্য কিছু tips দেওয়ার চেষ্টা করছি-

ইংরেজি সাহিত্য, নম্বর ১৫

একটু চেষ্টা করলেই ইংরেজি সাহিত্যে ভালো করা সম্ভব। নিচের পদ্ধতি অবলম্বন করে আমরা সাহিত্যের বিষয়গুলোতে সহজেই ভালো করতে পারি।

প্রখ্যাত/বিখ্যাত ১০ থেকে ১২ জন লেখকের জীবনী, কর্ম, উক্তি এবং পুরস্কারের বিষয়গুলো শেষবারের মতো ঝালিয়ে নিন। যেমন- William Shakespeare, Christophen Marlean, Edmund Spenser, John Milton, Jonathon Swift, Alexander Pope, William WordsWorth, Sir Watter scat, S.T. Colendge, Jane Austen, P B Shelley, John keats, Tennyson, G. B. Slaw, W. B. Yeats, Pudy and kipling.

# বিভিন্ন যুগ বিশেষত Elizabethian period, Romantic ও Victorian পিরিয়ড। সেই সঙ্গে মডার্ন যুগের উল্লেখযোগ্য লেখক ও প্রভৃতি বিষয়গুলো শেষ সময়ে পড়ে নিতে পারেন। কারণ এখান থেকে প্রশ্ন অবশ্যই এসে থাকে।

# literary terms, Awards in Literature (Nobel Price, বুকার পুরস্কার), বিভিন্ন লেখকের ডাকনাম বা পূর্ণ নাম, বিভিন্ন দেশের জাতীয় কবি এবং উল্লেখযোগ্য লেখক প্রভৃতি বিষয়গুলো ঝালিয়ে নিতে পারেন।

#ইংরেজি শোককাব্য (Elegics), মহাকাব্য, Characters এবং সমজাতীয় লেখাগুলো অত্যন্ত গুরুত্বের সঙ্গে নিতে হবে। এখান থেকে ৩৫তম বিসিএস থেকে ৩৭ তম বিসিএস পর্যন্ত প্রত্যেকবারই প্রশ্ন আছে।

# ইংরেজি সাহিত্যের জন্য যেকোনো একটা প্রকাশনীর বই পড়তে পারেন। যেমন মিরাকল, প্রফেসরস, AN Easy Approval to English Literature বইগুলো তুলনামূলক ভালো।

বিগত ১৮ বছরের ইংরেজি সাহিত্যের প্রশ্ন 

পিএসসির বিগত ১৮ বছরের English Literature এর উপর প্রশ্ন শেয়ার করলাম। ৩৫ তম বিসিএস প্রিলিমিনারির জন্য ৪/৫ টা বই ঘেটে English Literature এর বিগত প্রশ্নসমূহ হাতে লিখে নিয়েছিলাম।তারপর টপিকস অনুযায়ী সাজিয়ে নোট করেছিলাম।আসলে সেই সময়টায় ইংলিশ নিয়ে জোর দিব, আরও কাজ করব, এমন অন্য কিছু ছিল না।নোট করেছিলাম - যেন সবাই যতটুকু পারে, আমিও যেন কমপক্ষে ততটুকু পারি।

ইংরেজি গ্রামার, নম্বর ২০

ইংরেজি ব্যাকরণ অংশের মান ২০ হলেও এর সিলেবাস ব্যাপক। কিন্তু এ অংশের অনেক বিষয়ের দক্ষতা আপনাকে ইংরেজি বিষয়ে প্রিলিমিনারি এবং লিখিত উভয় পরীক্ষায় ভালো করতে সাহায্য করবে। সুতরাং ব্যাপক সিলেবাস বা পড়ার বিষয় থাকলেও বিসিএস প্রিলিমিনারিতে ভালো করে স্বপ্ন পূরণে এগিয়ে থাকতে চাইলে এর গুরুত্ব অনুধাবন করতে হবে। এসব বিবেচনায় রেখেই ৩৮তম বিসিএস প্রিলিমিনারির জন্য শেষ সময়ের প্রস্তুতির জন্য গুরুত্বপূর্ণ বিষয়গুলো উল্লেখ করছি-

# word

#বিসিএস প্রিলিমিনারী/লিখিত এবং সার্বিকভাবে ইংরেজি বিষয়ে ভালো করার জন্য word বা ইংরেজি শব্দ জানা অত্যন্ত জরুরী।

কারণ word জানলেই বাছাই পর্বে আসা synonyms, Antonyms, Spellings, Prefixes, Saffixes সম্পর্কিত প্রশ্নগুলোতে ভালো করা যায়। তবে word বিষয়ের সমস্যা সমাধানকল্পে GRE Vocabulary Solution বইটি পড়তে পারেন। আর যারা পড়ে ফেলেছেন তারা শেষ সময়ে আরও একবার ঝালিয়ে নিতে পারেন। মনে রাখবেন বাছাই পর্বে word জানা অত্যন্ত গুরুত্বপূর্ণ।

 # Parts of speech: BCS  Preliminary exam এ এই অংশটি তুলনামূলক সহজ। কিন্তু তারপরও প্রত্যেক বিসিএসে এখান থেকে প্রশ্ন হওয়ায় শেষ মুহুর্তে এ বিষয়ের গুরুত্বপূর্ণ অংশগুলো দেখে নিতে হবে।

#বিসিএস প্রিলিমিনারিতে তুলনামুলক কঠিন বিষয়গুলোর মধ্যে clauses, idioms and phrases বিষয় দুটি অন্যতম। এগুলো থেকে প্রত্যেকবার প্রশ্ন আসায় একটু গুরুত্ব দিয়ে শিখে নিতে পারেন।

# Corrections এবং Transformations বিষয় দুটি BCS এর ইংরেজি ব্যকরণের মূল অংশ। যা একইসঙ্গে লিখিত পরীক্ষাতে এবং Free hand writing এ সমান গুরুত্বপূর্ণ। এই বিষয় দুটির  মধ্যে যে অংশ গুলো শেষে এসে ঝালিয়ে নিতে হবে সেগুলো হলো : Tense, Subject verb agreement, Sentence correction, Voice, narration, Right forms of Verbs প্রভৃতি।

বিশেষ দ্রষ্টব্য : এগুলো আমার ব্যক্তিগত BCS সম্পর্কিত ভাবনা। আপনাদের যদি সামান্য কাজে লাগে আমি স্বার্থক। ভুল করে থাকলে বা এ বিষয়ে কেউ দ্বিমত পোষণ করলে ক্ষমাসুন্দর দৃষ্টিতে দেখবেন।
